Girlboss. The term that pretty much everyone and their dog likes to use. Why? Why is being a girlboss so important?
For the past couple of years I’ve noticed (mainly in the blogosphere) that in order to be deemed successful, or to even feel like you’re doing enough, you always HAVE to be busy. That means running a blog, a side hustle, as well as a full time job or school/uni and you mustn’t forget POSTING about just how busy you are 🙄 View Post
I’m 30. T-H-I-R-T-Y. How did this happen? 😫 I still feel like I’m 18 if I’m honest. 16th August 2018, the year I turned 30 and what a year it has been… but that’s a story for another day. I thought I’d feel massively different but I don’t, the only difference is that now I feel like I want to do more. I popped up a little poll on Twitter with some of my post ideas, and this one was the winner so here it goes… 30 things before I’m 30. I guess this is just my take on a weird ass bucket list. *this t-shirt actually says “hello I’m trying my best” which is the most fitting description for my life. Also look at that t-rex arm
A big hello to whoever is reading this… I have left and returned to blogging so many times now it’s unreal. I just can’t seem to let it go!
I thought I’d write a little introductory post to get me back into the swing of things. So, yeah, I’m back… again. I’ve had about a year of from blogging (literally only the actual writing of blogs part – I’ve still been working on my insta + twitter in that time). A lot of things in my life changed – which I never really addressed on my social media. I’ll be doing a post on some of the things that have been going on with me during my break from blogging – ok I’ve written half and it’s just sat in my drafts, don’t judge me.
I’m kind of going to just play it by ear, not put real pressure on myself to create when I don’t want to. I’ll still schedule content if I can, and I’ll obviously plan for any sponsored or gifted content. But I don’t want to turn it into something I feel like I HAVE to do – not at the moment anyway 🙂 I’m using my blog as more of a creative playground, somewhere to work on my writing skills, my photography and to explore different avenues – such as fashion style posts. I used to believe you had to be the kind of person who would wear ridiculous outfits (ok, not ridiculous but the kind of stuff that looks sick in an insta shot but in reality not many people would actually wear/have the confidence to be that bold). I’m more in the lane of wearing what I actually would wear, not what I think looks cool or what would be the best for instagram engagement. I’m also petite and I’ve started going to the gym to build muscle (gotta get that ass) so it’s proving difficult to find things that fit and don’t make me look completely out of proportion.
I’m also yet to create a pretty logo for myself… I can’t decide on anything so a standard font will have to do for now. If you don’t know, I run a little biz called Ink Art Love – where I do hand lettered logos etc. I’m kind of hoping that by just opening my blog back up it’ll motivate me to start working on content on a more regular basis, at the moment I just write half a post and leave it there. I legit have like 15 half written posts waiting to be finished.
I’ll be doing a post to follow this one shortly which will include all my goals and ideas for the rest of 2018 – yes I’m a bit behind but I’ve had a lot going on!
Speak soon… and have a great Sunday!
It’s no secret that blogging is now considered a career to many, and like every other job, having a business card comes in handy. Whether you’re at an event or you just bump into somebody by chance, having a business card to hand over just saves a whole lot of hassle. It also makes you look more professional. They can be used in a variety of ways. Most people just have their logo, name and contact details. But you could also use them to house discount codes (for example if you’re a photographer or designer and want to give a little something back). View Post
I have been a NARS fan for quite some time now. I began using their tinted moisturiser as I felt it was better value for money than the MAC Lightful C (which I love, don’t get me wrong!). Currently I use the Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser, the Sheer Glow Foundation AND the Radiant Creamy Concealer. When I saw that they had released a pot version, I knew I just had to try it!
