I have been a NARS fan for quite some time now. I began using their tinted moisturiser as I felt it was better value for money than the MAC Lightful C (which I love, don’t get me wrong!). Currently I use the Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser, the Sheer Glow Foundation AND the Radiant Creamy Concealer. When I saw that they had released a pot version, I knew I just had to try it!
First impressions of the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer
Love love love the packaging, NARS products are always so instagrammable. The concealer is tiny but contains just as much product as their creamy concealer. I’m hoping it will mean I’ll get more out of it, as we all know how difficult it can be to get the remainder of a concealer – especially the ones with a wand.
I’m rather pale, OK that’s an understatement. I could literally blend in with the snow, so I went for the shade Chantilly, which is the lightest one I believe. How much does it cost? £23, so it is definitely a high end product.
Application & Coverage
I used a concealer brush to apply the product over foundation on the areas I felt I needed more coverage, which coincidently is everywhere. Seriously my face is horrendous at the moment! I then blended it with a beauty blender WHICH does suck up a lot of product, so on some areas I just had to use my finger. It went on super smooth, and covered my blemishes really well. If you’re looking for high coverage, this is definitely for you! I found that if I combined it with the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer it looked even better!
As the name suggests it is a soft matte finish, I’m guessing that’s midway between dewy and matte? My face is not great with matte products or powders at all. I have oily skin, but I’ve found instead of trying to strip the oil away, my face reacts better if I just let it be an oily mess. This however, was OK, I tested it on days where I was going to uni. So I was putting my face on at around 5:30am and taking it off at around 6pm. Did it last? Yeah. Did I have to touch it up at lunch time? I did. That’s not a problem for me though as I’m not expecting any miracles, and I am almost 29 after all. I would imagine on someone with slightly better/younger skin could easily pull this off without having to touch it up throughout the day.
Would I recommend it? Yes, definitely worth a try in my eyes. What’s your favourite concealer?
